Diane Bishop opened Ladies of Liberty Mercantile in January 2009 after retiring from a job as an Event Coordinator for many years.
She has been a quilter for years and a Civil War reenactor for over 20 years! So her love of quilting and history were the inspriations for the shop.
Ladies of Liberty Mercantile is located in Historic Downtown Independence, Oregon. The shop is housed in a 1884 building that was a dry goods store until 1940.
We have a huge selection of Civil War reproduction fabric as that is our main focus! But we also carry some primitive styles. You will find some patriotic styles mixed in as well. We feature a very good inventory of hand dyed wool too. Many of our quilters are experienced in wool applique and like to share their enthusiasm with others! We also carry embroidery supplies and patterns.
We love history here!
Customer service is a priority and we work very hard to make sure that the customer feels at home when they walk thru the door.
Ladies of Liberty is known as a friendly and helpful shop.
